AlphaMol Presents First-in-Class Oral MRGPRX2 Modulator for Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria at EADV Congress 2026

October 2, 2026 — AlphaMol Science Ltd (“AlphaMol”), a biotechnology company focused on AI-driven G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) drug discovery, announced that its investigational oral MRGPRX2 modulator, AM001, was presented at the 35th European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

The presentation, entitled “First-in-class Oral MRGPRX2 Modulator for CSU,” was featured in the congress's Late Breaking News oral presentation programme, which highlights emerging research and important new developments in dermatology.

Held from September 30 to October 3, 2026, the EADV Congress is one of the world's leading scientific meetings dedicated to dermatology and venereology, bringing together international clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss advances in disease biology and therapeutic development.

Targeting MRGPRX2: A Novel Therapeutic Approach for CSU

Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a debilitating inflammatory skin disorder characterized by recurrent wheals, persistent itching, and substantial impairment in patients' quality of life.

Despite advances in treatment, a significant proportion of patients continue to experience inadequate disease control, highlighting the need for novel therapeutic mechanisms and convenient treatment options.

MRGPRX2 is a GPCR implicated in mast cell activation and neuroimmune signaling. Its emerging role in inflammatory and allergic disorders has positioned it as a promising therapeutic target.

Unlike conventional antihistamines and anti-IgE biologics, MRGPRX2-targeted therapies are designed to intervene in receptor-mediated pathways associated with mast cell activation, potentially offering a differentiated approach to controlling disease activity.

AM001: Advancing an Innovative Oral Small-Molecule Therapeutic

AM001 is AlphaMol's proprietary, investigational oral small-molecule MRGPRX2 modulator, designed to regulate receptor signaling associated with inflammatory disease processes.

The candidate is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1b clinical study in patients with CSU, assessing safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary clinical efficacy.

The EADV presentation highlighted AlphaMol's MRGPRX2 drug development programme and its ongoing clinical investigation of AM001 as a potential treatment for CSU.

The programme is focused on clinically meaningful outcomes, including urticaria disease activity, itch severity, treatment response, and safety. Very positive signals were obtained for the ongoing clinical trial with AM001.

Leveraging AI-Driven GPCR Drug Discovery

The development of AM001 reflects AlphaMol's integrated approach to GPCR-targeted drug discovery, combining artificial intelligence, structural biology, computational chemistry, and experimental pharmacology.

Through its proprietary GPCR-AI discovery capabilities, AlphaMol aims to accelerate the identification and optimization of differentiated small-molecule therapeutics against challenging GPCR targets.

Beyond CSU, AlphaMol is exploring the broader therapeutic potential of MRGPRX2 modulation in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and migraine, reflecting the company's interest in diseases involving inflammatory and neuroimmune pathways.

The presentation at EADV 2026 represents an important opportunity for international scientific exchange and supports AlphaMol's continued engagement with clinical investigators and potential global development partners.
